Natural Lawn Care: Going Back to the Basics
Lawn Care Service for Rockland County, NY and Bergen County, NJ
The tides are changing when it comes to having a healthy lawn. No longer are harsh chemicals the way to the perfect lawn. And we want you in Rockland County, NY and Bergen County, NJ to be a part of that trend.
At Majestic Lawn Care and Landscape, we’re introducing our natural turf management program. From our research, years of lawn chemicals have an adverse effect on your property’s soil and the depletion of soil health results in an unhealthy yard. So we decided to try the natural route and focus on soil testing as the basis for all natural lawn care maintenance. From your soil test results, we tailor a sustainable lawn care program for your property.
In our previous blog, Why You Can Have a Worry Free Lawn, we explained that your lawn will be at its healthiest and require less maintenance when it’s cared for from the soil upward to the grass. Healthy, vibrant soil life equals a hardy, thick and nearly weed-free lawn aboveground naturally.
Natural Turf Management (NTM)
If your soil doesn’t have the right amount of nutrients as well as the right pH balance, it won’t be able to sustain a healthy lawn. Instead, your lawn will be full of weeds, thin at spots or won’t grow at all.
Over the years, we’ve fixed these problems by reseeding, using fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides to get a nice lawn, but with conventional lawn care we are only treating the symptoms not the cause. With an organic lawn care program we start with a soil test. When we use NTM on your lawn, you’ll notice a healthier lawn throughout the growing season.
For a soil test, we take samples of your soil throughout your property to be tested for nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous as well as your soil’s pH. Once we get the results back, we develop a lawn care program that uses organic materials to bring your soil and your turf back to where it should be. Our systems approach lawn care program helps to prevent insects, weeds, and turf grass disease, naturally.
Yet, this is not a quick fix. Depending on how unhealthy your soil is, it may take a growing season or more to get your lawn to peak performance. Your commitment to the program and cultural practices, such as proper mowing height and watering schedules, are keys to its success.
Remember, we’ll also be monitoring your lawn’s health and adjusting your program as needed to produce the best results as fast as possible to get you on your way to a beautiful, lush, totally natural lawn.
